5.9L Cummins

If your 1989-1998 Dodge Ram 5.9L Cummins is making over 30lbs of boost/drive pressure or over 3500RPM Hamilton Cams Beehive Valve Springs will assist in fixing a few negative things you are experiencing:

    • Number 1. Valve float can cause serious damage to the valvetrain.
    • Number 2. The intake and exhaust valves can be blown open by boost and exhaust drive pressure which allows reversion.

Reversion can decrease your power potential by allowing exhaust gasses to go into the cylinder on the intake stroke. Inert gasses in the exhaust, when re-introduced into the cylinder shield the fuel particles from oxygen in the cylinder. This is a negative effect on your power. It increase the time delay from the start of injection to the start of combustion, it decreased the maximum pressure and maximum temp. reached in the cylinder and it increases the total time required to completely burn the available fuel. Correct valve spring pressure is an important piece of power production.

Part Number: 07-s-001

  • Ideal for moderate cams
  • Great for up to 5,000RPM
  • Potential for 10-12HP increase
