Ever since their conception, it has been common knowledge that the 7.3 is a toque monster. While it may not drop jaws at the drag strip, it can definitely hold its own while hauling heavy loads. If you're looking to keep your Powerstroke on the road for years to come, upgrading to studs is a must. Studs have a higher clamping capacity which gives them superior strength to withstand more stress, and they do not twist when you tighten them. And being longer, this provides more thread engagement which gives you a more accurate torque reading.
