The internal polyurethane bumper is designed to prevent damage. Designed for added strength and comfort, this kit allows use without air pressure when not towing. Options are available with or without the in-bag bump stop for tailored performance.

Why Pacbrake added a bump stop to their bags?

Peace of mind. Customers want a bump stop to prevent bottoming out from loss of air bag pressure, an extremely rare event that could damage the air bags or potentially the frame of the truck. Think of it as an "insurance policy" against bottoming out.

An additional benefit is that you can run these air bags at 0 psi when unloaded for superior ride comfort.

Are bump stops necessary?

No! For those that require max travel in their air bags, to raise and lower their rear end to pickup trailers or boats, or for those that take their trucks off roading, air bags without bump stops are recommended. Consider the HP100147 ALPHA HD air bag.
